Professional Experience Susan Campion is an experienced strategy and operations consultant with 16 years of international business experience. She advises executives, conducts projects to help grow businesses and improve their results, and designs and delivers training to enhance capabilities within clients’ organizations. She works with clients to: Identify new business models and apply innovative concepts Define and implement strategies for growth and profitability Design and improve processes to achieve strategic objectives Train and develop professionals within their organizations.
As a consultant, she has worked with clients in the energy, pharmaceutical, professional services, healthcare, education, consumer goods, and manufacturing industries. She is also currently an instructor in Lean at the Center for Business Excellence at the University of St. Thomas. Prior to her consulting work, Susan held various management positions at 3M in the US and Europe, including European Deployment Manager for Six Sigma. In that position, she was responsible for Six Sigma training across Europe (23 countries and 16 languages); ensuring a pipeline of successful DMAIC projects across all businesses and countries; and creating the financial, IT, project management, and project replication infrastructure for Six Sigma in Europe. First year results for Six Sigma in 3M Europe delivered $55 million in increased Operating Income and $78 million in improved Cash utilization, and second year results nearly tripled those numbers. In addition to her Six Sigma work, she launched and managed multiple internal consulting groups for 3M in Italy and the US and was a marketing manager for the Library Systems business.
Education Susan completed her M.S. in Industrial and Management Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and obtained her B.S. in Mathematics at the College of William and Mary, with a minor in German.
